ASTON, Penn. — The 14U AA division is one of the smaller divisions in DVHL, which made the race for playoff contention even more intense. All these teams know one another so well, which means anything can happen once the postseason begins.

The clear favorite in the division is the Genesis Hockey Club. They’re 16-0, scoring 103 goals and allowing just 29 on the year. They’re also hot off the heels of perhaps their most impressive win of the season, blitzing the fourth seed Campus Wild, their first-round playoff opponent, 12-0. Anything can happen in the postseason, but it’s going to take a miracle to knock off Genesis Hockey Club.

They’re far from the only formidable team in the division, however. Snider Hockey is slotted in at the second playoff spot, with a highly respectable 10-4-2 record. In the first round of the playoffs, they’ve got a date with the third place Delco Phantoms (8-7-1) in the first round of the playoffs. The last time these two teams faced off with one another, the game ended in an explosive 5-5 draw. This first round matchup is truly anyone’s game.

The last team to qualify for the playoffs was the fourth place Campus Wild. They were able to squeak their way into the postseason by virtue of a 4-3 win over the Exton Kings a few weeks ago. They’ll have their hands full with Genesis Hockey Club in the first round, but the important thing is that they qualified for the playoffs, which means they’ve got a puncher’s chance. Can they shock the world and take the championship?
