NEWARK, Del. — Hockey is one of the most popular sports in the entire country. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to get involved without a significant commitment early on. That’s why USA Hockey is partnering with DVHL for the first Try Hockey for Free event of the 2023-2024 season.
Try Hockey for Free events provide children ages 4 to 9 with free equipment and time out on the ice to have fun and get a feel for the sport in a low-stakes, consequence free environment. It’s also a terrific way for kids to make new friends and stay active.
DVHL Executive Vice-President Joe D’Angelo is excited at the prospect of a new generation of players being introduced to this great sport, “Try Hockey is a great event for young players to get onto the ice with no cost to their parents and experience a great sport. Ice hockey is something they’ll play for the rest of their lives. It’s beyond a sport, it’s a lifestyle.”
