Today, we’re shining the spotlight on one of the most tightly contested divisions in all the DVHL: the 18U-AA division.

Every single one of the six teams in the division has exactly one win. In fact, the Quakers (the #1 ranked team in the division) and the Flyers Youth, are the only teams in the entire division with a positive point differential…every other team has either scored less or the same number of goals that they’ve allowed. For example, the Genesis Hockey Club has somehow both scored and allowed ten goals in just three games. Their dynamic offense is buoyed by forward Shane Dachowski, the leading scorer in the division. Typically, it would be unthinkable for any team to score ten goals in three games to have a losing record, yet the Genesis Hockey Club sits at just 1-2, which speaks to how frightfully competitive this division is.

Another prime example of this: the third place Flyers are the only team without a loss or tie at 1-0. Even the first place Quakers suffered a draw in their last outing against the second place Central Penn Panthers. Had the Panthers won that game, they would have been the first team in the division to reach two wins, and sent the Quakers tumbling down the standings.

With a division this tightly contested, everyone has a razor thin margin for error…every game is of the utmost importance. However, seeing as no team has played more than three games in the entire season, there is still plenty of time for someone to grab this season by the horns.
