HACKENSACK, N.J. - In the 16U AA competition to represent Pennsylvania at USA Hockey Nationals in Amherst, New York, Genesis Hockey Club snatched the Atlantic Affiliate championship title and earned a ticket north. The team competed against Team Philadelphia in a best-of-three series that was determined in only two days.

A back and forth battle ensued, but Genesis showed its upper hand both days. Friday afternoon, strong goaltending and defense helped the team escape with a narrow 2-1 victory. The team knew their opposition would come out fighting Saturday, but were undeterred.

Genesis got on the board and stayed ahead to end the series with a 3-2 result. They’ll join the New Jersey Youth Hockey League’s Woodbridge Wolfpack up in New York starting March 30 in a series of games for the national title.
