PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Across the Delaware Valley, teams stepped onto the ice for the first official games of the 2022-2023 season last weekend. As players took the ice Sunday, they paid tribute to the more than 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Before the start of the game, players lined up on their respective blue lines for the playing of the national anthem followed by a moment of silence. While the players were not alive during the attacks, the memory of that fateful day has been passed down and those lost will always be remembered.
